SORTED SEMINARS now available through Mortgage People

Recently we were approved by the NZ Retirement Commission to be facilitators for the Sorted Seminars. You’ll probably recognise the cute little mouse and the sorted.org.nz logo above!

The sorted website really is quite good there is heaps of very helpful information, like an online budget tool, mortgage calculators and savings advice - really good stuff that is simple to follow.

How do the seminars work?
For community groups, clubs or businesses you can get us in to run through one of the sorted seminars, it'll take about an hour – and it’s totally free! We are serious about increasing kiwi’s education about money and debt and this is a great way to do it. You can call us anytime on 09 360 5620 to find out more.

This is the introduction seminar: 6 steps to getting financially sorted.

[2] Set you goals & Make a budget
This helps you to set your own goals and introduces you to budgeting and how it can help you.

During this seminar you’ll learn about what to consider when going into debt, how to get out of debt and tips on managing different types of debt.

[4] KiwiSaver – the basics
You’ll learn about how KiwiSaver works, who can join, what to think about before you join.

[5] KiwiSaver – making decisions
Here you will be given information that will help you make a decision about whether to join KiwiSaver, how much to save and where to invest.

big dreams for little people

Last week we completed our first prize draw for our “big dreams for little people” campaign, and it was quite exciting to be able to call one of our clients to say you have just won $5,000!

We called David Simiona & Sondra Fraser, of Mitchinson Simiona Architects, Mt Eden to say you have just won $5,000 and had to repeat ourselves several times before David realised what was happening and that it wasn’t a joke… “yes you have just won $5,000 for your children’s education!” What a buzz it was for our Adviser to make the call.

What makes this worth while is that for over 20 years as a business we’ve been helping people learn more about how best to sort out their home loan mortgage and insurance – basically educate them on how to reach their goals… but now we can help the ‘little people’ with their dreams and goals too by contributing to their future education needs!
